Forget about the usual campground-shot today - so here's kind of a voyeur view on my ready-to-go bicycle in the morning

Felt like going downhill most of the day - but the altimeter showed 200m above sea, so i must have climbed a bit too - in other words, Bulgaria has been hilly so far, but it doesn't feel hilly.

Streetfood is still the same crap as everywhere since Serbia(White, fluffy bun with minced meat and ketchup inside) - which is a shame, as the homecooked food i got so far was excellent and healthy and i'm sure the Balkan Kitchen has a lot more to offer than Cevapci and Hamburger. Weather is very cold and windy! Hope this is just a phase and not what is commonly referred to as "winter".

Entering Bulgaria...

The parts of Romania i've travelled through have been an exceptional part of this travel(Except for the last bit maybe, landscapewise) - its inhabitants are very hospitable, attentive and friendly, on several occasions i've just asked for the way and received fruits and vegetables fresh from the garden along with the advice i had asked for, i was even invited for lunch once - and i'll definitely never forget Petra

Silistra - "Pearl of the east" as the city is often cited, matched in the elegance of it's riverside fassade only by the likes of Bratislava

I'm not only saying goodbye to Romania, i'll also leave the Danube, which's path i've - more or less - followed for 1700km from Vienna to Calarasi. The river turns north, i turn south.
